Fall is here!

We are really enjoying the fall colors here. Some of you don't know, but in TX we had one small stick of a tree in the front yard and another small stick of a tree in the back yard. That was it!!! So here are a few pics of our yard here! The colors around here are wonderful! We haven't seen these kinds of colors in about 9 years.

Project done!

Here is the Before pic:

I was able to mark off another project off of my "To Do" list yesterday. The front door still had the paint that matched the walls when we moved in. We have since taken down the wallpaper that was on the top half of the walls and repainted top and bottom. So now I painted the door to match the wall.

And the after:
Now my job for tomorrow is the outside of that same door. It is cream now but will soon be a deep red. :)

Bird Nest

The other day it was very windy out and Becca found a nest that had fallen out of the oak tree in the front yard. So now (after inspecting for bugs) it is part of our fall decor!

First OU game!!

On Saturday Dad, Josh, Zach, some friends, & I went to Manhattan to see the Oklahoma/K-State football game. We had a great time and OU won, so that made it all the more fun!
Panoramic view of the K-State field. Our seats were in the stands behind the Sooner's bench, so we saw a lot of arm waving and yelling coming from the coaches through out the game.

KICK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!
The Sooner's Truck....we got to watch the truck being loaded with all the equipment.

Sarah, for the G gang. :)

Playing with the camera

Sarah took most of these pics last Saturday. Digital cameras are so much fun to play with. :)

Parade

Last Saturday we made a quick to Carthage. My sister's house sits on the parade route for the annual Maple Leaf Parade. We had a great time sitting in her front yard or on the porch watching it.

Apples Galore

Some friends of ours here in Leavenworth have two gorgeous apple trees and have let us pick apples several times (and yes that is a laundry basket). We already have canned apple butter, filled four gallon bags of apple pie filling and put them in the freezer, and made plenty of apple sauce to last us for a while.
The apples are great by themselves in fact they so good their yellow lab, who was trying to get us to play with him while we were picking apples today, was chowing down on them too :)

Rehab project

We decided to redo one of the bathroom floors. This was our first attempt at ceramic tile. I think it turned out pretty well, but it is a small bathroom so it wasn't too hard.

This pic shows the color of carpet that was in the bathroom.
Here are a couple of in progress pix.

This is the finished project.

ONLY 2 more bathrooms to go!!!!

Before and After

This was the wall in our basement. We quickly got rid of that wallpaper and instead, we now have puzzles!!

Kevin with a beard

I thought I would share a photo with ya'll of Kevin. It was taken back at the beginning of the summer. This was his look between the Army and civilian life. :)

School Days !!!

Just thought I would give ya'll a peek into our school day. Sarah busy at her desk in her room.

Zach working on Biology in the living room.

Becca studying animals that live in Australia. It was chilly this morning *in the upper 30's* so we had the fire going to warm us up. :)

Wish school looked that this for me at that age.
Love,
Kathy

Move in day

This isn't our house. We spent some family time at the OCF Spring Canyon Camp this summer in between moves. Thought I would give you a more current picture of the family for those who haven't seen us in awhile.
This is move-in day. Mom and dad came up to help unload and unpack. They were a great help, as usual when they come help at that time. This is the upstairs family room looking into the Kitchen.
The Kitchen in progress. Zach is in the background.
Dad got to watch the truck and mark off boxes as they came in. May sound easy but it isn't.
The Garage got full fast and took awhile to get emptied out.

We will show you some pictures of the rest of the house later.

Greetings from the Gentzler Family

This is our first attempt to enter the Blogosphere. You might be lucky to see a blog once a month. No, really, I'm serious.

We thought we would start out by sharing some photos of our new home here in the oldest city in Kansas.

I'm sure you will see more soon.
