Someone else's trash is my....... treasure!

I ran across this short bread pan made by the Brownbag Co. at a thrift store this morning. It retails for about $34 and I got it for $2. So of course I pointed out to Kevin that I "Saved" him $32 by purchasing this item. Don't think he fell for that line of reasoning. ;)

The results were very tasty! Kathy

Game Night

Saturday night we had a group of kids from church over for a game night. I think there were 18 or so of them. It was loud, we went thru a LOT of food and soda, and lots of fun was had. :)

crafts

I have used bits of time lately to be doing some card making. I have really enjoyed it. I have been watching some little videos on a web site teaching me some new techniques. Now if you check out this web site you won't find any cards there that look like these. The reason that I like to watch the videos is that it gets my creative juices flowing. So go check it out if you are interested.
http://jennifermcguireink.typepad.com/my_weblog/ This website listed here is where you can find these videos. Lots of fun for all of you scrapbookers and card makers!

This quilt square is for a quilt that several ladies at church are making. This group makes a quilt for all the church members that are widows or widowers. This will end up being a king size quilt for the latest widow in the church. All though it doesn't look it, this square is HUGE. It is about 36"X36". So there will only be 4 squares.

today

Josh going to work.
Sarah making her breakfast and hiding from the camera. :)
Zach eating breakfast.
Becca and Daddy doing some cuddling.

Now the work begins: Josh is at the Bank for the day, our lawn and the neighbor's lawn (she is recovering from cancer surgery) need mowing, patio cleaned up, rabbit cage cleaned, laundry, ironing and getting ready for about 10-15 kids over here tonight. Just a normal day. :)

See ~ even KC is working. She is happily cleaning up a raw egg that fell to the floor. :)

We love visitors

We had 3 young men stop by last night and leave this morning. They had driven about 14 hours from Huntsville, AL. They are on their way to Montana for a TeenPact event. So we gave them a place to sleep, some breakfast, a bit of conversation and off they went. Josh was glad to see one of his friends that he had not seen in over a year.Kathy

Touring Leavenworth

Friends reunited. :)

I didn't even know that there was a Berlin wall monument. It is actually 3 pieces of the wall that they shipped over here.

Here are some pics from the Buffalo Soldier monument.

We have friends in town from IL. We did the touristy thing and showed them around a bit. It was quite fun. Saw up close things that I had only driven by or saw things for the first time. Great fun and a perfect day for a picnic lunch.

Thankful

I'm thankful for buying a house from a family that included a Master Gardener! :) It is so fun to see what else will bloom in our yard. Here are some pics of the clematis that grows on the front light pole and some day lilies by our sidewalk.

This one is a photo of the impatiens by the front of the house.Kathy

TeenPact National Convention!

This past week Zach, Mom and I went to the TeenPact National Convention! We had a great week hanging out with friends from various states, being challenged by some fantastic speakers, and playing/watching Ultimate Frisbee!

Zach played in the Ultimate Frisbee tournament with the team from Missouri~The Grass Stains. They had a great time playing and really played very well. Although they didn't win, they made it farther then anyone was expecting them too. They had only practiced together as a team once before they got to camp!

The Missouri Frisbee team plus the cheerleaders! :)

I had a great time with some very dear friends of mine!! Sarah (on the right) surprised me by telling me that she wasn't going to be at camp, and then showing up!! It was a wonderful surprise!! Both Sarah and Virgina (on the left) are great friends of mine from Texas. It was so fun to get to see a bunch of people from Texas again!
We were waiting for the next speaker to get started! (Three Sarah's in a row! Sarah on the left, Sarah in the middle, and Sarah on the right!!!)
While we were there this week, Zach and I were made "honorary members" of the group of kids from Texas. We knew most of them from our two years of TeenPact in Texas already. It was fun to be a Texan again. ;)

Some of the speakers we were privileged to get to listen to were Dr. Jeff Meyers, from Summit Ministries, Chad Warren, formerly from Worldview Academy, and Lila Rose, founder of Live Action. All of the students there (over 350) were challenged and equipped to live for Christ and to make a difference in our culture.

We had a great week at camp and can't wait until next year!!! ~Sarah
