This field is outside of Weston. The day that we stopped by the side of the road for Sarah to get out and take some photos another man had the same thought. Kind of dangerous as there is no shoulder on that stretch of road, but it was worth stopping for the pictures. :)

The big race

This fall the home school group here started a running club. He and Sarah have both been participating in it for the past couple of weeks. On Saturday Zach ran in a 5K. He came in 16th out of about one hundred runners, and 3rd in his age group! We are so proud of him!

Birthday time around here.....

Becca celebrated her 11th birthday last Friday. Wow! It is amazing when your baby is 11. Makes me feel old. ;) Here are a some photos to show how we celebrated her day.Here she is trying out her new desk. She and I were in the car at the time that she was born and she wanted a photo to show it. She is learning to take weird pics from her siblings. :)

As you can see we were camping last week. We have not camped in a little over a year and it was the first time that we camped since we got rid of our camper. We started out as "tent campers" and then moved up to a pop up. Last summer it was time to get rid of the camper and so we went back to the tent. We weren't sure how it would go, but it went very well. The hardest part was not being organized. I'm used to everything having a certain place in the camper and we were back to living out of the back of the van. UGH. The bad thing is that our 6 man tent no longer fits all 6 of us!!! Tee hee. But Josh didn't camp with us. He just came out on Friday night when we celebrated B's birthday. So our 6 man tent now sleeps 5 of us!

We went out on Thursday afternoon to set up camp. Kevin and Josh were at work and Zach was at a bible study so it was left up to us girls (including 2 of B's friends) to find the campsite and set up shop! Something that we have never done by ourselves. I had not even seen the tent being set up in about 7 years! But we did it. Kevin had to restake it a bit, but other than that we did fine.~~Kathy~~~

We have some friends from Ft. Hood that are in town for a class at Ft. Leavenworth. I took Becca and the girls to the park for lunch today. They had a great time!~~Kathy~~~

Downtown Leavenworth

Saturday we spent some time wandering around some antique stores in Leavenworth. Well, all of us except Josh, who was working. Leavenworth is such a quaint town. Lots of antique stores as well as tons of little home town shops, boutiques etc.We stopped at one shop in particular because we wanted Becca to meet their new kitten. We have been there about 4-5 times in the year that we have lived here. (can you believe that it has been over a year????) The owners have been very kind. The first time that I was in there she shared some cuttings from her jade plant in her front window. They are thriving and are need of being repotted into larger pots. ............. sorry, I digress.

Fall is in the air.......

It is that time again and I pulled out the box of Fall Decor. I don't go crazy, but I do enjoy a bit of decor here and there.
