Delaware

Well, our family is not all together, again!  Zach has been in Delaware since last Saturday.  Here is a photo that he sent yesterday.  They went to the shore after class one day this week. Looks beautiful!

Bathroom Renovation Project, Part 1

Dad and the boys started working on the Master bath in December because there was some leaking around the shower. Here are some of the pictures from the renovation.

Here Zach has just started on taking the tile off the wall.
Dad and Zach have gotten a little farther. As you can see, the wall behind the shower was VERY moldy, so it is a good thing that the bathroom got redone.
 The front of the tub.
One step closer to being done! The wall paper has been taken off above the shower.

The tile went up the wall a little bit, so they took that off as well.
The little corner space in between the shower (right) and the tub (left).

Well, that's all for now!

A Day outing with the Family

Today Kevin took the day off so we headed to the Big City!  ;)  We wanted to spend a family day so we decided on the Truman Library and Museum.  (Josh said "we are such Home schoolers"!)
B listening to one of the talks about the displays
I loved the look of LOTS of airplanes hanging from the ceiling.  They were in the part of the display that was about the Berlin Airdrop.
I found this letter very interesting.  It was to Pres. Truman from an angry parent.  You can double click on it to be able to read it.
President Truman is actually buried here.  You can see the white tombstones out to the right of the flag.
Just wondered how tall he was compared to Zach. :)
They had the oval office replicated here.
A Thomas Hart Benton mural in the foyer of the Library
The flag was flying at half mast today in honor of the last American WW1 soldier who recently died.  He was 110.
Loved the old houses near the Library
President Truman lived here
We had to have lunch, didn't we?????  ;)
Way too much food, but oh so good
We headed to the City Market to do some shopping.  It is time to start buying seeds for the garden

Tea Party

Becca wanted to have a tea party for 2 of her friends.  She was so cute about it and did most of it by herself.  They had a great time.
Such sweet smiles!
Lots of goodies.  :)
Notice she did good ~ there are some fruits mixed in with the candies and home made treats.
What a cutie.  We are so proud of her ~ she is growing into a wonderful young lady.

TeenPact 2011

We had a fantastic week at TeenPact Leadership School this year.  It was a little easier since this was the second year of TP in Kansas.  Kevin and I were a bit more comfortable in our roles as State Coordinators since we had done this once before!
Here is most of the staff for the week.  We had staff from Florida (3), North Carolina, Michigan, Texas (2) and of course 2 from Kansas.
Zach is part of the skit that is a tradition on the first day of class.  He was a misbehaving child?!?!?!?
Another skit.  Isn't Sarah cute in the back ground as a bodyguard???
Sarah being the clerk of the House of Representatives.
Becca doing her "First Read" ~ reading the bill that she authored
Our Four Day Class & staffers ~practicing for...... you will see
Governor Brownback speaking to our class!!!!
See why I had them practice???  I thought the Gov. would agree to a photo and I wanted it to happen quickly. :)
Becca paying attention to something.  :)
Jumping on the Hotel beds?????  ;)
Some of our Staffers waiting for something at the back of the room.
My Two favorite staffers!!!!!  :)

That is all for now!
