A little snow fun

Well, it got up to 75` today, so most, if not all of our snow is gone.  We had some 4 foot piles around so there may be a little bit of those left.  I'm sure it will all be gone by tomorrow.

So here are a couple of shots of B playing in it.I think she liked being that much taller than her mom when I took the picture!
I'm a bit sad that it is all going to be gone by this weekend.  Not that I didn't enjoy the sun and warm temps today when I had the sunroof open on the van!  :)  But we have 8 people coming in this weekend for TeenPact.  They will stay with us Saturday night then we leave for the capital.  One of the girls coming in has never seen snow.  I was hoping that we might have some when she is here, but looks like we won't.  I so love the look of snow when it first comes and I would like to share that with her.  Not to be, I guess.

Snowstorm

We had the crazy snowstorm a couple weeks ago, just like most of the country did.  It was beautiful. And the worst of it came on a day that Josh had off of work and the post closed down so Kevin did not have to go in.  So we had a cozy day home together.  It was nice.

This is what it looked like around here for those doing school.  Yes, they still had to do school.  I have at times given the kids "snow days", but not this time.  We kept on keeping on.  Notice that Becca stayed near the fireplace because of the bitter cold temps outside!

I found this pretty funny.  It warmed up on Sunday to the 50s.  Becca was so excited about warmer temps that she went out onto the patio and read for about an hour.  Just looks a bit funny that she is sitting there with the snow all around reading a book.  But the sun feels so good after the cold, cold, cold weather that we have had.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!  We had a special dinner tonight.  A little gift for everyone to make it festive.
Psalm 116:1  I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my supplications.

I'm back!

No excuses for ignoring the blog.  I have totally been avoiding it.  Just like anything in my life, if I get behind I feel guilty.  Then that makes me avoid what ever I am behind on.  It is an endless cycle for me.  So now that I have that off my shoulders, I will proceed with showing you a few pictures of the last month or so.  I will probably put them on the blog over a few days.

******************************************************
We celebrated Josh's 22nd birthday last week.  It always amazes me how as parents we never "feel" like we are old enough to have children at the ages that they are!  I guess that just means that we are young at heart!  :)
His food of choice for dinner was Spaghetti Alla Carbonara.  One of my favorites.  And he even made home made pasta for it!  Talk about working on your birthday.  He also spent the morning tiling our bathroom, but that will be another blog post.

I was being a bit lazy about going to the basement to get the birthday candles.  So I put the first candle on the cheesecake that I found.  We had a good laugh.
I made the "Company Cheesecake" from the good old fashioned Betty Crocker Cookbook.  It was pretty tasty.  I had never made it before so I was taking a chance.

We finished the evening with our new favorite game:  "Bananagrams".  Lots of fun.  Wanna come over and play sometime??????

Last weekend we took 7 teams to the Awana Bible Quizzing over in KC.  We had a good day.
The front row is all our teams.

Becca came in 2nd in her division.
The whole gang showing off their awards at the end of the day.

That is all for today. More later this week.
