Veteran's Day

Today we headed to KC for a field trip. Last quarter the 3 youngest studied WWI in school. So a visit to the National WWI monument/museum was in order. Since Kevin had the day off today we made the trip. It is truly one of the best museums that I have ever been to. It was wonderful. Sunny and bright ~ made it all that much better.

This is a glass walkway over a field of poppies. You can see a reflection of the monument at the bottom of the picture.
The monument has been there since 1926, but the museum that was build under the monument has only been open since 2006.

Kathy, so cool that you got to go today.... Tom told me about some special speakers~ Alvin York's granddaughter (or was it his daughter?). Anyway, that is a field trip that I am *really* looking forward to taking! Thanks for sharing!
